Gabriel Abed

Gabriel Abed is a 30 year old Barbadian, and Barbados-based global leader and expert on blockchain technology. His expertise has been developed through a pairing of academic pursuits and an indefatigable entrepreneurial spirit, driven by a belief in the revolutionary potential of technology and decentralized distributed ledgers for global good.

His intellectual interest in Bitcoin and Blockchain Technology took root in 2010 as an undergraduate at the University of Ontario pursuing a degree in Information Technology where he majored in Cryptographics and Network Security, graduating with Honors. In February 2016, Bitt broke new ground by launching a digitised version of the Barbados dollar; the first ever global example of a digitised fiat currency being approved and embraced by a Central Bank.

To date, Gabriel, the Caribbean's leading and a globally-recognized authority on digital currencies has lead discussions and spoken on the subject of blockchain technology at the Caribbean Development Bank, the International Monetary Fund and World Bank, the United Nations, the Commonwealth Secretariat, multiple Central Bank forums and many other world stage forums.

José Castro-Segarra

JOSÉ CASTRO SEGARRA has 25 years of management consulting advising companies in aligning technology and business objectives and 10 years of economic development with the Government of Puerto Rico in California and Puerto Rico. He holds an MBA degree in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix.

As the Business Innovation Officer, he developed strategic plans for the development of the aerospace cluster in Puerto Rico. He implemented and communicated the strategy to team members and stakeholders in order to achieve goals. He lead the establishing and expansion of several aerospace and information technology companies like Honeywell Aerospace, United Technologies Aerospace Systems, Computer Science Corporation, Infotech Aerospace Systems, Lufthansa Technik, Microsoft and Ion Hewitt, to name just a few.

On previous assignments (and as part of a two men team), he initiated the Technology and Innovation Center with funds from SBA/FAST and PRIDCO. Major achievement includes: (1) received the authorization to use "T" for Technology Excellence in the PR Small Business Development Center branding; (2) Got the approval of three first stage and one second state SBIR funding by assisting over 52 technology-based entrepreneurs and scientists in the preparation of their SBIR proposals including business strategy and network.

Pedro Giner Dapena

Born in Argentina; raised in Puerto Rico, Pedro Giner Dapena is a Labor and Employment Law attorney co-founder of Usera, Figueroa & Giner, PSC, with a 15 year practice representing multinational companies in employment and commercial matters. On 2016 he became a participating attorney of the Digital Currency Legal Defense Coalition, which focuses on the legal issues surrounding digital currency and distributed ledger technology. Mr. Giner is also an active public speaker and seminar provider in a wide array of legal and business subjects. As an avid blockchain enthusiast, he has been closely following the developments in Bitcoin, altcoins, and DLTs since 2012, fomenting the adoption of blockchain technology in the island and currently developing a practice area representing financial technology companies, entrepreneurs, and early adopters

Anthony Di Iorio
CEO and Founder of Decentral and Jaxx, Co-founder of Ethereum

Anthony Di Iorio is a serial entrepreneur, venture capitalist, community organizer, and thought leader in the field of digital currencies and disruptive and decentralized technologies. He is the founder and CEO of Decentral and Jaxx, and co-founder of the Ethereum Project. He serves as the Blockchain Ambassador at TMX Group / Toronto Stock Exchange, previously serving as their Chief Digital Officer.

Bruce Fenton

Bruce Fenton is an active member of the blockchain industry. He is President of Atlantic Financial / Atlantic Financial Blockchain Labs, Board Member and former Executive Director of the Bitcoin Foundation, founder of the Bitcoin Association and was the organizer of the Dubai Bitcoin Conference.

Fenton is also the host and founder of the Satoshi Roundtable retreat, an exclusive, invitation-only retreat for leaders in the blockchain industry.

Denisse Flores-Caldera
Partner, Tax Advisory Services

Denisse Flores-Caldera is a proven leader and highly respected member in the broader Puerto Rican business community. She has significant experience in Puerto Rican, US and international tax matters and has advised clients spanning across a wide array of industries, including private equity and financial services, as well as multinational clients with operations in Puerto Rico.

Ms. Flores focuses on both inbound and outbound Puerto Rican and US federal tax matters, as well as US Virgin Islands and Latin American related investments. She supports BDO Puerto Rico’s existing focus on Acts 20/22 and services Puerto Rican based businesses.

With more than fifteen years of tax experience in San Juan and New York City, she has extensive expertise in tax consulting and compliance matters across a wide array of industries, including alternative investments, manufacturing, banking, technology, insurance and retail.

Enrique Martinez is the Co-Founder and CEO WebCapitalists Corp. After spending 6 years working at the Department of Defense and 3 years at the Department of Intelligence, Enrique has become an expert in bitcoin investments and capital transfers through the use of bitcoins. Israel Menchaca

I’ve been in the banking industry for 20 years in Puerto Rico, learning many aspects of this industry and its role in the economy. Throughout these years, I have had the opportunity to serve in commercial banking (corporate banking, small and middle market), as well as retail banking. From Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, to Santander, BBVA and Oriental Bank, I had the opportunity to commence in a variety of positions, such as an Accounting Clerk for commercial banking operations, a Cash Management Officer in corporate banking, Commercial Credit Analyst for small and middle market businesses, as well as a Management Trainee, Branch Manager and Relationship Officer. In November 2016, I accepted the challenge to enter a new market with a start-up called Tokken as Executive Sales Director. We provide online banking privileges to high-risk industries, and utilize blockchain technology to provide data integrity in all monetary transactions that occur in our platform. We seek to provide our platform in mass proportions as we enter into the highly-stigmatized cannabis market in the US and its territories, pioneering a new pathway of success and compliance in a highly-regulated industry.

Liam Robertson
CEO and Founder of Alphabit

A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), Liam holds a degree in Economics from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. He also holds a Masters in Finance from the University of Durham.

Starting as a Portfolio Manager for UK-based IFA company, Liam quickly moved up to Analyst at a London-based Fund of Investment Trusts. He sat on the Yen desk for Light Peak capital and a Hedge Fund, successfully trading Euros, Yen and Dollar Yen for 18 months. After increasing his book five-fold, he returned to private client wealth management. Jani Valjavec
Co-Founder, ICONOMI

Jani Valjavec is a co-founder of the Ethereum based ICONOMI, the first global decentralised digital assets management platform that has raised more than US$10.6 million through an Initial Coin Offering (ICO). Jani is a crypto and apptoken expert and a well-known member of the blockchain community.
